A new $10 million extended stay hotel is planned in Butler Township near the Interstates 70 and I-75 interchange.
Columbus-based hotel developer Witness Hospitality has started the initial work on a Home2 Suites by Hilton, to be constructed at 6615 Town Center Drive less than a mile from the Benchwood Road exit, according to a Montgomery County building permit application.
The 106-room hotel will be a short drive from the Dayton International Airport and could help attract more patrons to the restaurant-dense Miller Lane area.
The DBJ previously stated a Montgomery County building permit put the cost of the hotel construction at $7.8 million, though developers later said the total cost of development will likely be closer to $10 or $11 million. Developers are aiming to complete the project around winter of 2017.
Witness was recently formed by the merger of Columbus-based Alliance Hospitality and Washington Township-based KB Hotel Group. Its website says it has 27 current hotels and 13 more in the pipeline.
The Home2 Suites brand has been making its mark in the region, with a 92-room hotel under the brand opening at Liberty Center last year. A 106-room hotel under the brand has also been proposed near Austin Landing, though the township hasn’t reviewed a site plan for the project.
